A New Generation of Sexual Health
With the advent of the Internet and the profound cultural exposure to new and wide-ranging forms of sexual content, arousal and expression, there is a dire need for a renewed understanding of human sexuality and how to treat and help people understand their sexuality and relationships. ISH aims to stay abreast of the contemporary changes in our culture and in the field of human sexuality and sexual health. The Institute aims to establish programs and services that are based in understanding the complexities of contemporary human sexuality.
ISH is the “new generation of sexual health” in that we utilize a contemporary sexual health model that integrates knowledge across areas of sub-specialty in sexual health, resulting in new paradigms and new treatment approaches to sexuality and relationship concerns. For example, our sex addiction-compulsivity program is one of the first and only programs that has conducted research and developed clinical interventions related to sex addiction-induced trauma among the partner or spouse impacted by sex addiction, challenging and replacing the traditional “co-addict” model.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Staff
Our staff consists of licensed psychologists, clinical sexologists, marriage and family therapists, and certified sex addiction therapists (CSAT) who are uniquely qualified to address a wide variety of issues and to adapt programs to effectively treat individuals, couples and families. ISH utilizes a highly integrated team approach to many therapeutic and clinical concerns.
