ISH leads the way in Advocating for Partner and Spouse of Sex Addicts
ISH offers a treatment model and approach based on contemporary applied research that focuses on the clinical symptoms and needs of partners and spouses of sex addicts. ISH is a pioneer in understanding and treating the trauma and related symptoms partners and spouses of sex addicts often experience.
ISH utilizes a model that expands beyond and challenges the existing sex addiction model, which has established a model of “co-addiction” and “codependency” in understanding partners and spouses of sex addicts. We also treat the sex addiction-induced (SAI) trauma so often seen among partners and spouses. We understand and validate the pain of partners and spouses as they struggle to cope with the impact and consequences of sexual addiction and compulsivity. We offer crisis management and stabilization, psycho-education, trauma intervention, coping strategies and emotional regulation as well as support for the relationship. We help couples restore trust in their relationships and find their way back to healthy intimacy and connection.
