Sex-Addiction-Induced Trauma Model

ISH has developed the Sex-Addiction-Induced Trauma Model for the treatment of the partner impacted by sex addiction. ISH promotes a treatment approach that recognizes and addresses the complexities of sex addiction-induced trauma so often seen among partners and spouses. We offer crisis management and clinical stabilization, psycho-education on sex addiction-induced trauma, trauma intervention, coping strategies and emotional regulation as well as relational support.

ISH leads the way in challenging the field and traditional models that focus on co-addiction and codependency and under-emphasize and even ignore the traumatic symptoms and indicated clinical management of these symptoms.  ISH is a strong advocate for evolution in the field towards a model that recognizes and treats the significant and profound trauma experienced by partners that results from the consequences of sex addiction and compulsive sexual behavior and associated patterns of perpetration in an intimate relationship.

Our program also advocates for the coupleship and helps the addict understand the trauma experienced by his partner and the impact of trauma on the relationship. We help couples in recovery from sex addiction understand what happened, what they are experiencing currently, and how to move towards trust-building and finding their way to healthier connection.
